Joining the Blogging World

Here we are, trying out this whole blogging thing! We'll see how it goes, but I'm kind of excited about. Most of the time it'll be me, Tanya, writing, but sometimes I might get Tim to throw in his two cents... which I may regret in the future :)

About us: Most people reading this already know this, but I'm telling you anyway, so listen up! Tim and I started dating in March of 2006, and two years to the date later, Tim proposed at our little spot on the beach. We got married on December 27, 2008... a lovely Christmas wedding at the church I grew up going to, at the time of year I always wanted to get married at... it was perfect in every way!
So right now we are living in our apartment on the north side of Holland, and beginning the whole search-for-a-house process... proving to be more obnoxious than first planned. I'm working at the Wooden Shoe Restaurant where I assistant manage/waitress. Tim works for a company called Serv-U-Success where... he... does... stuff. I've never been able to explain his job to anyone, he's kind of like those Coca-Cola or Frito Lays guys you see at stores, but only at Meijer. I'm always on the search for a teaching job around the area, so let me know if you hear of anything!! I'm not ready/willing to move yet, even though its probably better to do it now rather than waiting around for a while... who knows what the future holds in that department, its God's plan, not ours :) I love living by the lakeshore and can't imagine raising our future family anywhere else!

The title to our blog, "Cowboys and Angels," is actually the title of the song we used for our first dance. The first summer we were dating, we headed to Grand Haven for the 4th of July fireworks. (I don't know if Tim remembers all this, we'll see when he reads this) We were in Tim's truck and I found his c.d. case so I began looking through, trying to find something to listen to. I was reading some out loud and came to a Garth Brooks one, No Fences. He said hey, lets put that in, its got a lot of good songs on it. So I did, and it was a little scratched up so not all the songs were working out to well. We came to #4, Cowboys and Angels and he asked if I've ever heard the song before, and I hadn't. He wanted me to hear it so we listened, and it was soooo sweet, I loved it! He then told me that that was the song he had pictured dancing his first dance at his wedding to, and the woman he married would personify the 'angel' part of the song. That was one of the first moments I 'knew'!

Anyway, gag reflexes in check, thats us in a nutshell! That was kind of a long post, most probably won't be like that. I also make no guaruntess as to how often this gets updated. It could very easily turn into one of those things I get really gung-ho about at first, then forget about after a bit. I also make no guarantees as to how exciting/interesting some posts may be. I get pretty excited about simple things that aren't always exciting to others, so I apologize in advance for that. So there you have it, the beginning of the blog to Tim and Tanya "TnT" Koning

Actually darlin, that's only part true. It was the part about the "cowboy" I identified with. I knew the Almighty would send me someone just made for me, to be the lace to my leather...
